Simple question, buy an iMac now or hold out for new one.
When do you expect we will see a new iMac?

Thanks everyone.

i bought mine a week ago, imac 21.5 i5 2011 model!!
so far i love it, i think the new models will appear next year about march april :)
i had the same thoughts for a month but after all i thought it dont worth to wait so long..
if it was a month or two ok but 6 months its too long..
:D

that what i was thinking but then there were reports of apple putting late 2011 imac on their website so im in two minds

The "late 2011" model is the stripped down education model. The current model is very good already. There isn't much for Apple to add until Ivy Bridge in the spring.

The late 2011 model is the 21.5" Edu model (it's been asked and answered more than once here in the iMac forum). The current model was released in May, and I wouldn't expect any newer models to be released before 5 or 6 months or so.

I just bought a base 21.5" and love it! Absolutely love it!

Except when it locks up.

Which is a lot.

Like every day, multiple times for the 11 days I've had it. Force Quit does not work, powering off is the only option.

The last several days it seems like iTunes is the culprit but a complete uninstall and then a reinstall did not correct it.

Google searches show that's it's happening all over but not just with iTunes.

And not just with Lion -- I have the most recent version of Snow Leopard myself.

Google searches also reveal that this has been a recurring problem through time with different model iMacs and that Apple will fix it.

So.............I say go for it!
