I have Bose QuietComfort2 headphones, and the left can just started behaving oddly. Periodically, sound doesn't come out of it, and sometimes on both cans I have a static/echo-y sound. I called Bose, and the headphones are 2 or 3 years out of warranty, but I can get them replaced with a brand new set for $100. I have wanted/been interested in the Shure E500pth/SE530pth for sometime, but the opportunity to get them hasn't presented itself.
I have ordered a new pair of the bose headphones just yet, as I wanted to advice. I would spend the 100 dollars to get the new pair of Bose cans, then try to return them in a Bose Store. Following that, I would purchase the Shures. I have a few questions before I do that though.
My walk around town earbuds are the Sony MDR-EX81 buds and although they sound decent, after an hour or so of use, my ears begin to feel sore. Also, the cable is very kinked up and the plastic (rubber) protector covering the cables is starting to rip apart. I was wondering if the Shures hurt after a period of time, and if the cables kink much or peel.
On another note, I was curious how they sound in comparison to the Bose cans. From what I have read they are phenomenal but I want to verify that first hand.
Thanks for the help and sorry for the long post...
