Hi guys,

im after a Smart Keyboard for my iPad 8. Had a look on eBay and this came up. New sealed and only £85 pp.

real do you think or has any one bought one at this price on eBay?

cheers

Looking at sales history on eBay. That keyboard usually sells for £50 to £90. Depending on condition, new or used. While it may initially have been more expensive. I'd expect retailers or wholesalers cleared overstocked inventory in lots. Because how many people buying a £330 tablet actually buy a £159 keyboard?

Anyways, it looks legit to me. Just note that says iPad 7th only. Maybe it's just old stock. Apple's current one says 7th and 8th. So, it may work with the 8th. I don't know if the current one is the exact same one with updated compatibility or if Apple made some other changes for a new model number. As I couldn't find the model number for the current UK model.

Thanks for the reply, I noticed the iPad 7 bit too. Not sure to give it a go. Bloody expensive, like you say for a device that is only £330.

The exact same keyboard works on the iPad Pro 10.5/Air 3rd gen/7/8. There would be no compatibility issues.

That sometimes goes on sale for $99 at Amazon and Best Buy in the US so I think that price is quite believable.

Worries you might have:
- counterfeit (it's not expensive enough to do that for this AFAIK)
- stolen - and then be careful: apple has serial numbers everywhere and they're likely to see the serial number electronically in your iPad. So make sure you keep "paperwork" that you bought it for a reasonable price and from whom etc.
- gray import should be a non-issue for Apple gear - done it myself more than once, never had any issue
