iPod touch To Restore or Not To Restore?

I am planning to use TouchFree.

Has anyone succesfully jailbreaked using TF withouut restoring?

If so was your music/vids/pics etc intact after the jailbreak.

Its just safer to do it after a clean restore. It doesnt take THAT long to resync everything.

Also, after you restore, make sure you uncheck the options to sync everything. That way the restore takes much less time, and then you can concentrate on hacking (if you have to start over). Sync when you're done.

My 2 cents.

Note: This has no functional reason, just a personal preference.

Sure, worked for me

I felt the same as you. I did not want to lose all my videos and songs etc (I am away from my main PC). So, I tried it and it was fine. However when the later version of TF with Summerboard came out I tried that over the top and it didn't work correctly. I then had to do the full restore so lost all my data. It does look really sweet now though.

Thanks guys, I just cba resyncing as my data is over 3 PC's and is selective (to fit into 8gig).

I'll se how it goes.
