So currently have the 2016 13-inch Macbook Pro Esc with major upgrades and am on the fence with what to do. First off, I have had 0 issues with the keyboard and I didn't really hate the touchbar when I used one, so those aren't dealbreakers for me.

I purchased the 15-inch Vega 20 / 32gb model but returned after realizing I really bought overhead and the cost was prohibitive. I also bought thinking it would be decent for gaming... Well if running throttlestop and constant other issues weren't existing in bootcamp I would have liked. Additionally, I did not love the size - EG I liked the portability of the 13-inch and the 15-inch was just not for me.

The 13-inch 2019 Quad Core 4-port is tempting, though my question is if it will be much better for video editing 1080p / some 4k. The 13-inch esc i7 from 2016 is a dog when it comes to this.

I currently also have a RX 5700 navi card in my tower which is older itself minus the card. I'm sure catalina will get drivers eventually and I could get an Akitio node on sale if I really want to "game" with my mac.

1) Have you upgraded from the base "esc" model to the other 13-inch and were plesently surprised by gains?
2) Is the quad core CPU in the 13-inch (4 ports) much better than the new model with 2? It seems simply lower TDP and 1.4ghz clock speed.
3) Does the 4-port 13-inch have two thunderbolt 3 controllers? (a plus)
4) Will the performance be night an day for basic video editing on the 13-inch model (without eGPU initially)
