I'd also love to know this. If my iPhone is on vibrate, I never know when I get a call.

vibration feels stronger to me, but my 3GS seemed weaker than other 3GS units.... havent tested out the speaker much, but reviews mentioned they made it louder... which is great since I always found it too soft (im used to blackberries going off at work that disturb the whole floor!)

yeah, feels the same too

I am just doing a restore right now, so only basing this on moving the vibrate rocker back and forth.

however, the rocker is now much more sturdy. Too many a time did my 3G go to vibrate / normal unwillingly. I am sure this will change now :)

Mine seems maybe a teeny bit stronger. More like it vibrates at a slighty different frequency.

I think they set them kinda weak for two reasons.

1. It's not so loud it overpowers the ringtone
2. It won't vibrate itself right off your table.

I can't tell you how many times I leave my old sanyos sitting on top of my dresser charging, only later to find it on the floor with a missed call.

I agree it's weak but it does not really "walk" across smooth surfaces like other phones do.

ive ALWAYS had vibration on on both and it seems less on the new one, i actualy just did a side by side

just my opinon

IMO, the vibration seems a little cleaner (if that makes sense). It's not as coarse as the 3GS. That being said, it is harder to hear the vibration.

Compared to my 3G, the vibration on my iPhone 4 is a bit weak. At least this is true for me.

The vibration on the iPhone 4 makes more of a noise than a proper vibration movement. So you'll hear a more audible buzz, versus the preferred low tone almost inaudible bass-like vibration.

You're supposed to feel the phone alerting you, not hear it. Maybe it's the new body of the phone that's altering the sound/feeling of it.

I can't make a comparison to the 3GS since I only had it for a day (I returned it due to the blah, muted and washed out display that was used for that generation).

Thanks for the feedback. If it is really weaker, that is unacceptable might as well not even include it.

I hope mine is like this. I hate hearing it vibrate.
Kinda defeats the purpose, your suppose to feel it not hear it.
Still the best phone vibrators were the old Ericsson flips those were the strongest most silent vibrators.

Feels a bit different to me, maybe because of the build/aesthetics of the phone. Not necessarily stronger though.
