I was wondering about those who have like a 30 gb SSD and 250 gb HDD

If I were to use SSD as my main HD and use it for software etc...
Wouldn't the speed get crippled if lets say.. I have aperture on my SSD but my picture collection on my HDD, wouldn't the system still have to read from HDD therefore slowing down SSD with it?

Thanks

If you are working on the file off the HDD, then you are limiting yourself. My RAID holds my apps and a dropzone. I put a copy of what I am working on into the dropzone (on the SSD). When I am done, I version to the HDD.

I know I don't have an MBP, but thought I would post since I have done the RAID choice (over the extra storage).
