Service Source indicates only two MLB part numbers, both dual socketed. A 2.8/3.0 board and the 3.2 Board. 3.2 board has additional cooling for the northbridge chip due to proximity to hotter running processors.

I have a 2008 single quad-core 2.8GHz model. Yes, there are two processor sockets.
But what's I want to add is that it also has the said extra heatsink for the northbridge chip. It is a huge heatsink right between the two CPU heatsinks and memory cage.
Looking at iStat, the temperature reading on northbridge, is now only a few degrees C higher than the processor. Much better than the 60C reading some people were getting on the last generation MP.
but in fairness i did ask this question 6 months ago and i was one of the first on this forum to ask it. How about you read the date of the original post.
not quite sure why this thread has been dragged up.
