I point you to the Schosche FM Transmitter. I used it for my iPod mini and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it works on my iPhone as well (except it complains about wanting to turn on airplane mode everytime I plug it in).

I got it at Walmart a year ago for $20 and it'll charge at the same time as you're playing. The quality of the FM signal it outputs is great too and easily dwarfs competing signals around you.

Thanks for this. Listening to the ipod in my car was one of the main reasons I had an ipod and one of my biggest disappointments about the iphone. It still sucks about the airplane mode. I charge my iphone at home by my computer speakers and it makes a loud static clicking noise every now and then.
