So, I reformatted my MacBook last night. Previous to the reformat, I was running 10.4.8. Obviously, there were LOTS of bugs in it. Personally, the only problem I had was with my color profile, which was easily fixed. But even though it was so easy, I figure I may as well not deal with it and just stay at 10.4.6. Is there any reason in particular I should update, or should I just wait for 10.4.9?

Did you install the latest firmware? You will need at least 10.4.7 if you did. Which was a good release, anyway. I haven't had any issues with .8 on a MB or a Mini, but obviously many people have.

I have no issues whatsoever with 10.4.8. I use a PowerBook, though, so perhaps they are related to Intel?

Yeah, just for Intel.

I've been on 10.4.7 on Macbook over a month and 3 days ago my system crashed and could'nt boot up.Went over to Apple center and they acknowledged that the 10.4.7 has a problem with something similar to RSD.
Upgraded to 10.4.8 and so far has been smooth sailing.
