So I use Toast 11 to burn dvd's...it takes like almost two hour to burn a dvd the way I am doing it. It seems to check the disk first or something which takes FOREVER....then it goes and burns the actual disk which is like 10 minutes....is it possible to skip the first step? Right now its taking like 2 hours to burn a 700 mb movie..that seems wrong but I cant see any option to skip step one. Anyone know?

This is the keyword I was looking for in your post. Burning video DVDs the video needs to be converted to MPEG-2 which takes a long time and if you skip it you end up with a data DVD only playable on computer and DivX/MPEG-4 players (if that is the format, which I assume since 700MB is standard "release" size).
