Will toast allow me to insert X number of pictures and then automatically display them in time with the selected sound track? Let's try that again. If I have a 1 minute song and 6 pictures will toast automatically show one picture every ten seconds? If so, can I do it with each song and selected pictures then put them all together to complete an entire pictoral presentation?

This sounds like a job for iPhoto (unless you want to go the Flash or Director route). Create a new album in iPhoto. Make slideshow, chose 10 seconds delay and add a song (from iTunes or file) to play while the slideshow is running. (There also might be a way to export that slideshow to CD, but I don't know.)
