Toast 8 not working on new MacBook Pros

I thought it was just me, but doing some reading over at Roxio forum proved that there is a huge problem with burning DVDs using Toast on a new MacBook Pro. Long story short, I've tried three brands, two types of media and every possible type of burn (data, music, movie, copy) and the only thing that works is burning a CD. However, since I can burn DVDs using Disc Utility, it seems that the problem lays in Toast, not my burner.

Is anybody else having problems? Has anybody found a solution? Does Toast 9 work?

Yes, No, and sort of

Toast 9 works with burning CDs and DVDs for me, but fails at burning Dual-Layer DVDs. I get a "Servo Fault" about half way through burning DL-DVDs, yet Disk Utility doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

yeah i had the same problem buring dvd's with toast 8. cd's would burn fine but not dvd's. i've since got hold of toast 9 but have yet to use it.
