I've done DVD-ROM -> VIDEO_TS -> DVD-R using MacTheRipper and Toast Titanium 8 for a while now using Toast's automatic compression. A friend gave me a spindle of Verbatim DVD-R 9.4GB discs (P/N 94777). I'm trying to burn a VIDEO_TS folder onto one of these without compressing it at all, which seems like it should be possible since the source VIDEO_TS folder is only 7.63GB.

I added the VIDEO_TS folder the same way to Toast and changed DVD to DVD-DL at the bottom right by the record button. Toast tells me that auto-compression is still necessary. Then I unchcked Fit-to-DVD video compression and clicked the record button. I get the following error message:

"There's not enough free space on this disc: 4002944 are needed, 7.63 GB are available."

I think this is the same message I get when I follow the same process with a regular DVD-R. Are the discs wrong or is there something wrong with this process?

Thanks!
