First off, long time viewer, first time poster.

After getting my new 15 inch Macbook Pro a while ago, I fell in love with Apple.

I have been patiently waiting for three months on a new IMac. BUT today is a sad day.

I just moved to Lincoln, Nebraska a week and half ago from Dallas Fort Worth Texas. In DFW, there as at least four apple stores that I knew of.

In Nebraska there is only one. It's in Omaha.

Well I call over there today before making the hour trip over.

"I'm sorry sir, we don't have them."

I asked, any projection on possibly when?

"We don't know, might be a couple weeks."

YOU ARE KIDDING ME!!!!!

I miss the big city life already. I'm about 99.9% sure I could have gotten my hands on one today in Texas.

By the way, I called over to Des Moines (3 hours). They don't have them either.

I feel your pain, I live in Alaska. There are no Apple Corp. stores in state at all. And the 2 private Apple stores here in town kinda suck.

Online- sorry to hear...

I guess I will just have to order online...

To think I wasted all that time this morning hitting the refresh button when the store was down.

Call again. I just called the Village Point store and they said the DO have them in stock.

Cincinnati has them, but cannot sell them

I am sitting on an old demo iMac at the Apple store in Cincinnati right now. They have them, but cannot sell them because something is hosed up in their inventory system and the part number is not set-up, recognized, or whatever. You'd think they would have a back-up plan to allow a manual transaction, but no, the inventory system comes before the customer.

A "very sad day" because you can't get your hands on an iMac? Get a life and put things in perspective.
