By the powers vested in me, I hereby declare today Mod Appreciation Day. The iPhone/MobileMe/App Store craziness has begun and your mods have been hard at work cleaning up the forums. Let me be the first to give them all a big thank you.

What can you do?

Be real folks, .Mac/MobileMe probably has well over a million members; we hardly need a new submission every time it comes up or down. We already know. Read the front page of the site.

The App Store is up. We know. Read the front page of the site.

iTunes 7.7 is out. We know. Read the front page of the site.

:D:D

In all seriousness, it will be a rough couple of days for the Mods. Let's try and NOT add to their workload. After all, they are volunteers.

Thanks guys!!!

Thank you mods for all your hard work.

I hope all this craziness subsides soon or my eyes will boggle completely!!

Good job.

:apple:

*sniff*

I don't blame anyone for staying out of the news threads, but if you see something that's plain whack, please report it. :)

The Mods make this place what it is... a safe place out there, and a fun place in here. Without their work, most of us would not bother coming here.

I can appreciate the time that Mods invest in keeping it clean.

And as much as I'd like to offer some sarcastic witticism, I can only say: WEll done all you guys! Keep up the good work :) :)

From what I hear, it's not just a one day high alert for the Mods, so why not show appreciate over a longer period than a week? :p

shouldn't we show appreciation every day!? :p

but yes, today and tomorrow will be hard on them. do your part and report the bad posts.

One thing is certain, if any of the mods find better things to do with their time these kind of threads will supply a rich pool of replacement candidates.

Thanks for everything mods.
You are also some of the most tolerant and nicest mods I ever seen on any forum.
Thank you. :)

That's not how it works.
Yes from what I understand a human sacrifice is involved, or at least a little part of your soul.

Now would be a good time for all new members to take a 3 day vacation and return on Monday.

Kudos to all the Mods! Without them, this site would be total chaos! .... OK, maybe it's total chaos, anyway, but without them, it wouldn't be as much fun! :D

I'll second (third, fourth, etc.) the cheer for the forum moderators. They not only deal with day-to-day forum problems (rule violations, threads posted in the wrong forum, duplicate threads worth merging, etc.), answer questions, put up with members who think they should be exempt from forum rules and take it as a personal affront otherwise, but the moderators are the first sounding board for many of the site and forum changes and rule and policy refinements made over time.

Unless this whole thread is celebrating Xbox modding, in which case never mind.

A stunningly simple, yet functional, idea.

A time-out for those with less than x post count.

If I get gathered-up in that, so be it.

Unfortunately, I won't be at this station for much of the day. :(
