I was going to purchase a new MBP today but with the story on the front page from yesterday, I don't know if I should anymore.

Thoughts?

Do you need it now, or can you wait a month or two?

Personally, I'd just buy it and enjoy the MBP, the current generation is no slouch and most likely is more computer then you need.

I have no idea what you're talking about, and I'm not about to go searching for something that may or may not be what it is to which you're referring, as that we be wild assumption on my part. :D

So, my thought right now is that I want a coffee. I'm going to go make a cup.

Only you know when you want or need a new computer and if you can wait to see what actually happens in regards to rumors.

A link to the story in question would've been nice.

I agreed with him…BUT it depends on what you want to do? Haswell is good for gaming because Haswell get better with GPU performance. :apple:

Interesting but still no guarantee when the updated rMBP will be out. I would bet it will be announced but not available tip July or later.

I decided to get refurb 13in i7 2.9ghz with 512gb SSD for $1780 from Apple. I dont game so that was no concern and love it. The only thing that would be disappointing would be more RAM and significant improvement in battery life.

I never saw a nb as a gaming platform.

Digitimes has got to be the lowest hit rate on rumors being correct ever. Why anyone (including MacRumors website) even posts this junk is unforgivable. I would never base any plans of mine on rumors like this. And I didn't since I just bought a new retina MBP.

not June

I'll be surprised if we ACTUALLY get new product in June. Prob more like july/aug earliest, but if you can wait till then I probably would.

No question the GPU is improved but since the OP didn't state his needs, I merely pointed out that the Ivy Bridge based MBPs are great performers
