Quick question peeps. I'm at work right now but girlfriend dropped her jailbroken iPhone 4 in the toilet. It's out of warranty can I still replace it for the $200 at the apple store?

Very true guess it was some reason June 5th was stuck in my head. Either way I'll most likely need to pay the $200 or would they possible just replace it? I do have 3 iPhone on my family share. Guess I'll be as pleasant as possible and see what happens. Thanks for the replies.

Hey - I did this once and after 3 days in the airing room it worked fine... Just dont try and charge it or turn it on for a good few days.

Also, do you have phone insurance?... if you've got several iphones then thats over $2000 worth of gear new - insurance is a must in my book

Some people finally get the idea that it's just a ****** phone :D

I would give it a try to be honest. Never hurts.

Rule #4: Wear gloves when handling it!!

Although, we really don't know, as he only said "she dropped it in the toilet" maybe she was cleaning the toilet?

EDIT: sorry, not adding to the post. If it where me though, I would take it in. The worst that can happen is they say no, but I don't think that will happen. I forsee the $200 replacment fee.

Go to the Apple store and tell them what happened and they might replace it for free. They've replaced my iPhone 4 because I cracked the screen (BTW the screen being cracked is falls under as "being out of warranty"

Since she dropped her phone in the toliet, shouldn't she be responsible for shelling out $200 for a replacement?

Apple is very strict about liquids and warranty... they might just take a look at the iPhone, seen that it's been water damaged and not replace it.. perhaps not even for $200.:apple:

Just returned from the apple store and she got the phone replaced for free. I just said iPhone fell in toilet and doesn't work. He even grabbed the iphoneturd with his bare hands & I made fun of him. I think I couldve beat my hands against my chest and grunted and got a free one lol. Very happy thanks for all the input!
