For months, nobody believed me when I said a new MBP would come again in 2011. I was right :D ( it was pretty obvious since Apple update cycle is always under a year )

Good thing Apple finally put a descent GPU in the 15" base MBP. The previous 15" 2011 base MBP was just stupid with a weak ATI 6490m for a $1800 machine in the year 2011. Seems Apple has been listening.

The base 15" 2011 MBP sure is tempting to buy. My gf wants my 15" 2010 MBP so we'll see what happens. :p

I'm happy for you.

Every Unibody update was a Spec bump with the exception of the 2011 MBP which gained Thunderbolt. :p

Now, now, it's what it is. I guess for some a 'refresh' consists of either change in case design, or change in processor architecture... Well seeing that the MacBook Pro has had a steady design since late '08 (three years) and only a change in penryn, sandy bridge and... hmmmm....

Anyway glad your happy!

so you knew what everyone else was expecting...what do you want for this, a chocolate watch?

Yeah, only just a few weeks ago when some rumors started leaking. But I was saying it for months and nobody except a few was expecting it back then ;)

Well most have been significant spec bumps but this was a minor spec bump. Would not really call it the all new line. I mean the only significant difference is gonna be with the low end 15in as it now has a really better gnu rest is just standard run of the mill upgrade to slightly better CPUs whose only advantage is higher clock speeds. This has nothing to do with the actual refresh which shall come out next year(probably in late spring) along with Intel's newer Ivy Bridge platform. I find it weird that MacRumors have changed their buyers guide to now say that you should buy the MBP now whereas it should say mid of lifecycle just like it says for the iMac

The funny thing is there are 8 billion people in the world, and every second, 8000 of those will think exactly the same thought. Being first to post a cheesy thread on MacRumors doesn't make you the only person to have known this.

I admire your self-pride however. Great to know you haven't stuck your face in a bucket of sand yet.

I'm going to predict... in 2013, we're gonna see Haswell and some significant updates. Doubt me anyone?

What are you? Two? Anyone could have predicted some kind of change in 2011.
