I've got to get my son a GPS for his car. He currently has the 3G iphone (not 3g S), so his phone alone does not have voice dial. What I'm trying to find out is if the upcoming Tom Tom for iphone app/car kit will allow him voice dialing thru the Tom Tom application?

Or will that only work with 3G S's because they already have voice dial?

Does anyone know?

Not many details out about the TomTom app. My guess is Apple will pull an Apple and limit that feature to only 3GS just like they do with the native voice control app.

Don't have the 3GS, but doubt it would work very well on the 3G.

Okay, well then do any of the garmin or tom tom's allow an iphone to voice dial via the GPS bluetooth? Or would the dialing still have to be done "by hand".

I hope my question makes sense.

I think it's by hand... But I don't know for sure. It was by hand with my old Nokia phone. I'll give it a shot with my iPhone this weekend, see what happens.
