It's funny. In the past I couldn't wait to get the new iOS when I was getting an upgrade a couple days later just to play around with it. With 8 I don't feel like it is all that exciting without the new phone. I think part of that is that for 8 to really be appreciated you need 10.10.

Exactly my thoughts. Plus, according to some of the forum members, iOS 8 seems to be fairly unstable even in though it's golden master. I'll be sticking with 7.1.2 until a more stable update is released.

I agree but luckily I'm rocking Yosemite so I'm itching to upgrade. I can haz all your calls and texts plox?

Been running ios8 since the first beta (its gotten a lot better but there are still some bugs for sure). I wonder how diff this wed build will be than the gm build. Still holding off 10.10 while im updating my apps for ios 8 though.

Not until October, the GM release of 10.10 and iOS 8.x They have disabled the SMS continuity. Not sure about calls.

What's the point in that? Isn't the whole point of a beta, public or closed, to check for bugs and make sure features work correctly?

Still once it's all working along with WiFi calling on my network (one can dream) I'll be a very happy bunny.

I think they should release it at midnight in their primary launch countries that way load is spread.

But as apple is a west coast company 6pm pst it is. It just takes hours on launch as huge numbers are trying to get it all at the same time

I'm running Yosemite on my Air but not on my iMac. And on the Air it is installed on an external drive. So I only boot to it sometimes and even then it is desk bound.
