TomTom car kit for iPod touch work with iphone 3g?

Does anyone know or see any reason why the ipod touch kit (which is cheaper) wouldnt work with an iphone?

My only reason for asking is to save £20.

well no it's not as the cradle is idetical except the bluetooth feature, so i just wondered...
