TomTom mount and iPone 4

Well, I bought a TomTom GPS mount and it fits the iPhone 4 just fine. Unfortunately, after about 10 minutes in the sun attached to the windshield, the screen dims and then a few minutes later the high temp alarm comes on.

Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Had the same problem except not in a gps holder. I have a mat on the dash and when it is in direct sunlight it seems to do this.. I dunno what we can do to change it.. Try to keep it out of direct sunlight I guess is the only option

Is the iPhone 4 charging? There is thread about the fix for iPhone 4's that don't press the little button on the TomTom cradle and doesn't charge the phone. It's a Micky Mouse fix with paper/cards.

Anyway, maybe that's why the screen is dimming.

As far as heat...no idea.
