Tony Hawks - Pro Skater 2. Issues getting it too work

I have just downloaded Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 for mac. It installed fine. When i try to run it goes to a black screen then a dialog box comes up with 'Drawsprocket cannot switch to requested resolution (640x480, 16bit, 1 buffers)'
I changed the resolution in system preferences, but i still have the same problem.

I have a MacBook Pro 2011.
OS X 10.6.8

Does anyone know how to solve the problem.
