Hello,

I have over 31k emails dating back to 2007 all on my Mac. I need to keep them for searching/etc., but don't want them to take up all my HDD space. Most of them are from gmail (still on gmail server I think), several are from an exchange account (that have been deleted from the server).

What do I do with this data without losing it?

Thanks,

Matt

You could backup all the attachments and keep the mails, which won't take much space.

But as far as I know you can't do much more to save space.

A good practice is to erase the attachments of mails you don't want to keep the attached file, but do want to keep the text.
