too many safari windows opened

my elderly mother uses an iPad air

while playing scrabble she always accidentally taps all these ads. each time she taps an ad it opens a tab in safari. after a couple of weeks i'll look at her iPad and i'll notice safari has like 50 tabs!

any way to prevent this within safari?

Don't know about the blocking the safari, but maybe the scrabble game has an in-APP purchase that stops the ads?

i believe they do for $9.99. UGH

but this also happens when she reads email. she gets lots of junk emails and always taps on the ad
