Did you take apart a Macbook or Macbook Pro? If it was the MBP did you make sure to re-connect the keyboard/trackpad ribbon cable?

it was a macbook pro, yeah, i wouldnt be able to turn the computer on without connecting it, i have it back apart now, i didnt mess with any of the connections besides disconnecting the main ribbon

Did you make sure to connect the main ribbon back on? Be careful, I've heard of horror stories where the black end piece of the ribbon cable breaks off when you try to pull it out, especially the hdd ribbon cable as well.

im positive how would it turn on if that wasnt connected, the puower button goes through that ribbon as well

yeah the backlight on the keyboard will come on if i put my hands over the speakers holes (im guessing this is where the light sensors are)

If I remember correctly, there are 2 connectors that go from the keyboard into the palmrest. Are you certain both are connected? One's really tiny.

huh

Did you use any sort of how to or manual? Just repeat the steps...backward.

i did repeat all steps backward and it doesnt work, the only thing i disconnected was the main ribbon cable and the power button is connected to that so i know that is connected properly, i just cant seem to figure out what the problem is

If you can, I would suggest taking it apart again, and make sure all connections from keyboard to the palmrest are okay. It looks like it should be fine since there is power, but just make sure the main cable from palmrest to logic board is nicely connected. It may be helpful to put some tape there.

I would also reseat the memory modules, reset the macbook pro, and hopefully everything will work out.

Good Luck!

Actually now that I think about it... try reseating the memory and reset the macbook pro again before taking it apart.

Good luck!

Just outta curiosity, why did you dismantle the machine in the first place?

apparently taking out the ram and putting it back in and resetting the battery, and a little super glue fixed the case, i took it apart because i didnt want to just start gluing my laptop with the systemboard right there lol.

all is well thank you guys
