tool question in quark....

got dang it seems all my issues lately have been the result of using quark.

Okay I am trying to cut shapes in quark. I have a shape over another shape and im trying to cut the excess of the shape on top. Im assuming one uses the scissor tool but Im not sure. When I use the scissor tool and click over a boundry of that shape it makes the whole color of the shape disappear. Whats the deal? I can do this easy with illustrator or freehand... but quark... *grandma accent* oh my word!

you can merge, divide and perform minus front operations on items like you do in illustrator. i THINK its all under quarks modify menu....go down to shapes or something like that. i myself dont bother with quarks drawing tools, they suck. anyway. you should be able to find them. good luck.

what you do is select both shapes together and go up to the type under item> merge> difference. saweet!
