I do allot of video editing and already have Cs5 and FCP. What apps would you guys suggest? I mean anything is cool...just need to spend a little more money and put some apps on.THank you

The best apps in life are free...
The only app i've ever paid for is Maple 14, Microsoft office is free with school for me...

Anyhow...
Plex
VLC
Toast Titanium
Perian
Flip4mac
Growl
Growlmail add on
gfxcardstatus
UnRarX, if you torrent.
Steam

You'd be better off posting in the applications area of these forums as no application is made specifically for the i7 MacBook Pro.

Still, here are a few:

Adium
Chrome
1Password
Dropbox
CandyBar
Facetime
iWork
MS Office

You can also take a look at google.

I guess the true must haves as in you could do without but you really shouldn't are

VLC (Qt Perian just has a worse interface and cannot play even close to as many files)
BetterTouchTool(Makes the nice Touchpad something awesome)
gfxCardStatus (nobrainer)

Everything else depends on choice
ie, Alfred, MacPorts, Opera, Skype, Adium, UnrarX (I really want something better), Dropbox, iPhotoLibraryManagerm, MS Office and Windows 7 ;)

Asking which apps you need without telling us what your needs are is a bit of a shot in the dark don't you think?

My app set I have installed on EVERY Mac I own:

MS Office
iWork
Skype
Dropbox
Omnigraffle Professional (I suck at freehand diagrams, great stencils!)
VLC
Merlin (Project Management software for OSX)
RapidWeaver (website creation tool for OSX)
Handbrake
Final Cut Studio (mainly for renders, not for my MBA's)
Photoshop (not the whole Creative Suite, just PS)

I also keep a copy of Unison (Usenet reader) on all my Mac's but don't use it that often.

speaking of the i7, someone needs to make an i7 monitor to see when turbo boost is being used etc for the mac.

Chrome
HyperDock
Letterbox and Herald (for Mail.app)
Miro Video Converter
MacTubes (easily search and download YouTube videos)
VLC Media Player
HandBrake
Dropbox
