Just had the top case replaced on 2017 13 TB. Did a fresh install. I noticed that it didn't offer me to setup touch id. When I tried to add the fingerprint manually, it told me the limit has been reached (even though it doesn't show any fingerprints added).

I did the whole smc, nvram resets and the "xartutil --erase-all" in recovery thing, but same problem.

Anyone had touch id not working after replacing the top case? How did they fix it?

The only correct answer to this post is to take the computer back to the folks who fixed it for you (I'm assuming Apple) and get them to look at it for you. Sounds like something inside the computer didn't get reconnected when they put it all back together.
