Long story short, my battery spontaneously died in my late 2013 rMBP. As it was refurbished, I really did not start using it until early 2014, but it was only at 750 cycles.

I took it into the Genius Bar prepared to pay $199 to have the top case replaced (only way to replace battery in this model). They sent it out for repair, but that's where things go downhill.

Upon picking it up, I noticed a key was damaged and not even functional (couldn't depress it). I didn't have a chance to detail examine the top case in general or the other keys before the Genius took it out back for further inspection. He returned 20 minutes later with that one key working and everything else appearing to be in working order.

Today, I notice a loose screw is rolling around in-between where the top case connects to the screen, meaning the repair quality also suffered in this aspect as well.

I plan to take it back to the Genius Bar so that this can be looked into, but this has been a horrific experience thus far. Issues to date with this computer:

- Screen Lamination Issue - Screen replaced
- Battery prematurely failed without powering on - Top case replaced
- Top case replacement quality subpar (e.g. keys), resulting in replacing components again
- Screws from the top case replacement floating around (who knows what else wasn't correctly installed or repaired)

Have to be honest.. I have not experienced this many problems for the same hardware quality issue before on an Apple product.
