My black book has lots of scratches and marks on the top case. Can I get it changed from apple? If so, what may be the cost?

You can always check ebay for a new topcase, that is where I got a new one for my whitebook when it got too stained and cracked. Easy enough to replace yourself, only... 17-20 screws really, and 1 thing to unplug.

better done by someone authorized :) dont want to take risks... ANy idea how much it costs? And I mean the ORIGINAL APPLE topcase... not some imitation

Just buy one on eBay and swap it. It'll take 30 minutes. And you'll pay a 10th of the price. Done.

I just had my top case replaced on my White Book, cracked under warranty. Cost would have been $202.19 parts/labor. But wahoo for warranties, because it was freeeee.

Cracked because of a defect in workmanship or a design flaw is one thing, getting it swapped out because you scratched it up and you think it looks like crap is another. Right?

Yes, I didn't mean to imply different. His cost will be the $202.19 since his is simply cosmetic, and my was a known defect that curse the MB cases.
