Hi all.

I am hoping soon to be in the enviable position to be in the market for the i7 iMac with the 2GB GPU option.

I run EvE Online and do quite a bit of video/photo editing for work from home, so I feel it's the best suited system for my needs.

My question is to the community, is their any revisions due in the next few months? And is the i7 based iMac as powerful as the blurb describes on OSX?

(any sites with good honest independent reviews would be appreciated)

Take a look at the Macrumors Buyer's Guide.

New iMacs were just released a month ago and are on about a nine to ten month cycle.

I would expect their will be no new iMac's or Macbook Pro's until Intel releases Ivy Bridge. Which I have read we will not likely see until late Q1 or early Q2 2012. Ivy Bridge uses 22nm die's and the recently announced Tri-Gate transistor. It is said to be 37% faster than the current 32nm Sandy Bridge and reduces CPU power usage by at least 50%.
