Options have started to disappear from the top menu bar on my Power Mac G5.

When I click the apple icon, no menu appears. The icon highlights, but theres no pop down list.

Also, in Final Cut Pro, when I select the application menu, most of the menu options have vanished apart from "About Final Cut Pro".

I've tried repairing disk permissions and restarting, but that did nothing.

Does anyone know what the hell is going on? Has this happened to you before?

Please help!

EDIT:
iTunes also has missing menu options.

No I don't have any theme changers installed.

I decided to reinstall Mac OS X because I needed to use my computer for work. Everything is fine now.

But it was really weird, because it prohibited me from using keyboard shortcuts to items in the missing menu, like "Save" "Preferences" even "Quit". It was impossible to use my computer, so I just had to reformat and start from scratch.

Twas a very weird problem.

It was weird. Post back if it happens again. Also, if you didn't do a full reformat and install, then use Disk Utility in the Utilities folder to verify your hard drive. Repair with the OSX discs if necessary.
