So i keep hearing about complaints of graphics cards and cache being cut in half but from looking at the ordering specs, if you buy a top of the line 15" you still get the 9400 & 9600 and you still get the 6mb of cache right? Could someone explain to me the core differences?

I'm looking to update my current Macbook pro (2.4, 4gb's, 4mb cache, 8600GT) and I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on if it's worth it or not. I am a freelance editor/cinematographer/graphics (After Effects).

Thanks a ton guys!

If you take a look at some of the Barefeats.com comparisons, you will see that the UMBP does offer higher performance compared to the last-gen MBP. However, it is not that significant.

If the speed difference impacts your work flow, then it would be worth it. Take into account the display, and your budget.
