Hi All,

We need another topic for our next Fortnightly Challenge that starts on Sunday. If you have a suggestion, post it here...

John

Time to get started on a new topic.

Dale, filling in for John

Mine to start:
Portrait Framing Turn your camera on it's side and see the world a bit differently.

I also have an idea about posting images with no cropping. Post the full frame image and see what others have to say about cropping/framing to improve it. I'm stuck for a name right now. Full Frame sounds like FF cameras.

I like portrait framing.

One idea I was thinking about would be "Breaking the Rules"

My thought was to post shots that broke conventional rules of photography but worked (and explain why you think they worked).

Could also be interpreted as the subject matter of the photo.

Current topics of interest are:

Portrait Framing and

Breaking the Rules

There are over 100 views of this thread but only these two suggestions. The Challenge seems to pull some great photos on a consistent basis but the Topic Thread doesn't seem to reflect this interest. Any thoughts on this? Are people happy with the first two or three ideas or is the Challenge losing interest?

Post your comments and suggestions. Remember to vote for the topic you like the most.

Dale

Portrait framing isn't quite doing it for me. I already shoot a lot of portrait images. Also, we would have to make an unenforceable "must be shot in portrait rather than photoshopped into portrait" rule.

I really like breaking the rules. It's very consistent with my personality.

The new Challenge begins tomorrow West Coast time. The topic will be either:

Portrait Framing or

Breaking the Rules

Any interest in Geometry?

Dale
