I only have an iPhone, so i don't really have a good understanding of how big iPad apps are. Are they a lot bigger than iphone apps (like a few hundred megs?) or are they around the same size? Between bigger apps and video/garage band storage, I might opt for the 32 gig.
 
Games have been getting progressively bigger (some are 500mb)...

So yes depending on your App choices, the 16gb (14.5gb effectively) may be insufficient.

I have 40gb of Apps and before I got the 64gb I assumed most of my storage would be taken up by movies/tv shows, music & photos. Things have changed a lot in 12 months.

I would go with the bigger capacity.
 
I would suggest going as big as you can afford. Having too much space is not nearly as inconvenient as not having enough... :cool:
