HI everone just got my new macbook on friday and downloaded transmission to donload my torrent files. Just a quuick question if i put my computer to sleep will the transfer stop or do i have t leave my computer on till the transfer is done. Also does any one recommend anything else other than transmission for lite downloading.

Your computer will stop when sleeping. Transmission is the best.

In preferences for Transsmision you have an option regarding downloading behavior when computer goes to sleep

No. The preference refered to above simply stops your computer from sleeping if torrents are still active. If your computer is sleeping, it won't be torrenting.

Behind Azureus, i've played with transmission over the last couple of days and it is slower in both what it does and also download speed, less stable, much much less features.

I must say when i use transmission (for legal downloads, of course, inspector) i can't seem to get much above 25 kb/s?

i can't ever connect to more than 5 or 6 peers with transmission

but i hate the bloat of azeures

In my experience with Azureus and Transmission I can say I have had greater speeds with az.

granted Az is a little bloated however this is easily ignored by the fact that you are getting so many more features and have so much more control over the whole process. Transmission feels very limited and cramped in comparison.
