Torrents - downloading question

I am coming from a PC and when I had my PC I would download torrents from TRUSTED users I know. Now that I am on a Mac can I still download torrents the same way? Is it trustworthy?

I also have a portion of my hard drive using Windows 7 via Parallels - is it safer to run torrent downloads on the Windows side?

Just do a MacUpdate torrent search and read/try the reviews.

Sure... torrents work the same way on a Mac. Transmission is a popular Mac torrent app and is easy to use.

Torrents are no more or less dangerous on a Mac necessarily than on Windows. Just don't install any apps you torrent and you should be okay.
