I have 1.33ghz powerbook g4. The specs on the hard drive (new toshiba 160gb) say that it supports anything 10.3.9 and beyond. Any idea why my powerbook will not recognize this hard drive. What do I need to do to have it show up? Thanks for the help.

Assuming this is an external USB HD, I have to say that the older laptops somehow doesn't support enough power through just one USB port, you need the split head with two USB ends and one end to the HD.

Again, I'm assuming the toshiba HD is external and connects via USB.
