My WD 320GB MyBook is starting to show symptoms of failure. Not wanting to take a risk, I bought this drive. I plugged it into Windows, and checked the drive via MacDrive. The failure rate was pretty high, then again, it's a Western Digital.

Anyways, I made a copy of the drive. I ordered a Toshiba Canvio Basics 320GB USB2.0 HDD from Amazon with overnight shipping for $69.61.

Does anybody here have experience with this drive? Is it a good one? What is the failure rate? I want to make sure I bought a good, reliable drive.

Any information and reviews on the product will be appreciated, as always.

I don't know, I find them very expensive. I have several external HDDs, ranging from 250 GB to 1 TB, the 1 TB one didn't cost more than 79 €, nowadays it costs 99 €, due to the shortage.
Why does it need to be a 320 GB HDD?

I only have 30GB in data. 320GB is more than enough. I've been doing TM backups for 3 months, and I still have 275GB free.

Also, I didn't buy this drive. Please see my thread on the Hitachi drive for more info.
