Hello guys, newbie here - i've been using MacRumours quite a bit over the last few days as it's often high up on my google searches, so i thought I might as well join.

My old Toshiba HDD was my main drive in my mbp for about 3 years. I took it out, upgraded with a new 250GB, and now i'm trying to access data on my old HDD but can't. I'm using an ATA/miniUSB adapter thing that plugs in to the HDD, then to a USB port. It was taken from the casing of an old Seagate drive that didn't work any more.

Anyone have any clues as to why the drive isn't being read?

Thanks!
