Months ago, I purchased a 2 TB Toshiba portable external USB 3.0 hard drive that came with Tuxera NTFS for Mac. I installed that and was able to use it with my MacBook easily, along with my Windows partition. But last night as I was backing up files to it (manually), during the process I got an error message saying the file transfer process was interrupted, and that the drive was now in read-only mode! I tried re-installing Tuxera NTFS and rebooting, but that didn't help. Neither did disconnecting and re-connecting the drive.
I do know earlier I attempted to try the backup while watching a DVD on my external Blu-Ray drive, but that said it overloaded the ports and automatically disconnected them. At the time, among finally getting them working again, the drive could still be written on, but now it's not.
What do I do now? I don't want to sacrifice over a terabyte of data...

If you had a PC handy, you could try the read write function.

Did you install any OS or app updates recently?

Check permissions and see if the drive is locked or read only for your user.

Try a different log in account ...
