iPod touch Toshiba Laptop doesnt recognize iPod

So, my girlfriend has a 2nd generation iPod Touch, with iOS 4.1 on it. She got a new laptop about two weeks ago, which is a Toshiba Sattelite with Windows 7 and iTunes 10.0.1. When she plugs the iPod in, the computer makes the sound it normally makes, but does not recognize the iPod in iTunes.

Any thoughts?

I'm almost completely sure that 4.1 devices need iTunes 10.0.2 or 10.1 to sync.
