I picked up a new to me toshiba regza tv today and came home and swapped it out with my old tv. I plugged my mid 2012 MBP into it using a monoprice lightning display to hdmi adapter, the same one I used on my other tv. The MPB recognizes that there is a display attached (shows display settings), but no image appears on the tv. I tried all 4 hdmi ports, 3 hdmi wires, 4 different resolutions, and two other devices. My xbox and old hp computer connect fine to the tv.

Do you folks have any suggestions? Again, mid 2012 MBP, 16gb ram, 256gb ssd and 1tb hdd. Thanks!

Broken TV? Have you tried Toshibas support on their website? Or the Adapter (quite possibly that isnt compatible with the tv)

I think it is the adapter. I tried my a 2015 MBP, it did not work with the adapter, but works when I use built in hdmi port. The adapter works wth other tv's so it must just be a toshiba specific issue.

Any ideas on what type of adapter will be compatible? I'm using a monoprice adapter that's probably 3-4 years old currently.

- Any Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor/cable should work, really. It seems that Toshiba TV is finicky.

I'd just hop over to Amazon and get whatever gets the best reviews. If it doesn't work, just return it.
