I bought two new iphone 5's on release. Here's my total expense:

$8 Two cheapy silicone cases delivered the day before release.
$14 SGP Ultra Clear screen protectors.
$20 SGP Ultra Thin Air Case
$16 Bodyguardz back and sides films
$16 Two USB based car chargers (pending delivery)
$41 Two Lightning USB cables (pending pickup at Apple Store)

$115 Total

The accessories game is big business.

My wife is using the Ultra Thin Air Case with the Ultra Clear protector.
I am using Bodyguards back and sides with an Ultra Clear protector.

I have 3 extra Bodyguardz and 2 extra Ultra Clears as replacements down the road along with a slightly off fitting Ultra Thin Air Case when the replacement is delivered.

I don't want to know how much I've spent in iPhone accessories since the first iPhone. Things to get it to play in my car, charge in my car, my home, my garage, etc.

The big business has and always will be in accessories.
