Total cost of IPhone in your country?

In Australia, 10%GST included and without contract. You can get them 'cheaper' from carrier, but you ended up paying around $1500-$2000 over 2 years for phone+service. I would choose to buy the phone outright and go on an MVNO any day, which normally costs less and gives you more than going with major carriers.

Do Apple let's you buy the AppleCare plan?, cause here if you get it by carrier apple won't let you :/

really? that's weird.

within 12 months from the date of purchase you can pay AU$79 to get applecare plan. (at least in australia)

i personally wouldn't bother getting applecare plan for a phone anyway. but for a mac, i will consider it.

Normally $60/month, but I get $45 with my corporate plan.
Upfront cost of a 16gb iphone is about $198. So I pay $1278 over 2 years. As a point of reference, an iphone5 from the online Apple store is $948, so it is actually pretty reasonable.
 
UK.

16gb iPhone 5
£35/month x 24 = £840
Plan: 2k minutes, 5k texts, unlimited data + unlimited tethering

Add £99 for the same plan but for a 32gb iphone 5.
 
In Indonesia :

64 gb 1000 USD

Got 1500 mb data hspa, 150 min talktime, 15 sms, 15 mms every month for a year.
 
Here in Japan the two carriers that have it always give the lowest storage model free with a two year contract. Be that a 5 or a 4S. The 4 is not sold here any longer. If you want higher storage, then you pay a little more per month. I got the 32GB model 5, so I pay about 400 yen ($4 US) more per month on my bill.
 
In Belgium, they don't sell AppleCare for iPhone. If you want an insurance you'll have to get one from your carrier, meaning all of us who don't have subscriptions and buy our iPhone on apple.com are left out.

Also, regular home insurance companies don't have addons which covers accidental damages of phones, they all tell you to talk to your carrier.

Kind of sucks...

On the other hand, it's illegal for the carriers to lock a phone to their net...

iPhone 5 16GB - ₹ 44,500 / $ 772
iPhone 5 32GB - ₹ 50,900 / $ 883
iPhone 5 64GB - ₹ 59,000 / $ 1024

This are the rates from a popular website flipkart. But one can usually get it cheaper with Apple India Warranty on ebay.in etc and also some websites provide some sort of coupons bringing the price a bit down.
All these are factory unlocked GSM phones and price is all inclusive.

In Italy unlocked is 729 euros base 16gb model.
With my contract (3) 34 euros per month, 30 month contract and no initial payment.
I get 400 minutes, 400 sms and 2 gb internet.
The weird thing is that now I'm living in the US.
