Hi all

I wondered whether anyone could provide some advice on background apps running in the new OS. I am running it on a 3GS, and as I rarely turn my phone off (unless I have to), I find that when I go into the multitasking menu there are so many different apps showing up - are these running in the background and draining battery? I can see the benefit of having some apps there, but for many, such as games I don't see the point as I'll open the game, play it, then close.

I know how to close the apps when they are in there, I just wondered if (and if so, how much) it impacts upon battery life?

Thanks in advance for any insights! :)

The majority of them will not be running, and will just be in a 'frozen' state, thus not using CPU cycles etc. The iOS 4 multitasking is not 'true' multitasking, but will give the correct impression. IMO it does a good job of this.
