Hi guys,

I'm currently working out a plan to use my old Macbook as an AppleTV equivalent- I've found out about atv4mac and it sounds ideal. However, the laptop will spend the whole time running with the lid closed, is there any way to totally turn off the monitor? I can turn the brightness down all the way, but it's still on, seems like a bit of a waste!

Yeah, if a display is plugged in then just close the lid. The laptop will still run in what's called "clamshell mode".
