Totally wipe iphone?

Hi, i have the very first generation iphone, that im giving to a friend,

I just want to know how to totally wipe out all of my information so nothing of mine, is left on the iphone.

If i restore in itunes, would that do it?

go to Setting/General/Reset and hit erase all content and settings.

Should say something like erase content. Do that and it will completely erase every bit of personal info.
